Strange Faces is a series of digital paintings referencing the state of humanity. The most beautiful people can be ugly within, and people who society consider ‘ugly’ can be the most beautiful.

An off-shoot of my Decay series, Veins of Gold is refined and more flower-based. Think dust, old flowers, and pastel shades – Veins of Gold is the acceptance and healing of the past, with the healing balm of neutral colours bringing forth a certain peace.

Decay is a study of mould through the macro-lense. Edited and explored, a land of beautiful spores and rot. It is also a commentary on the beauty and necessity of ageing.

With the help of videographer Just Like That Productions SA and photographer Manie Ward Capturing, I could capture my in studio performance art piece on photo and video. Gaslit is a piece I think I will always be working on, as gaslighting has affected my life in such a big way. There is healing and power in art.

I thought it would be fun to explore differently the art of the masters, like the artists Picasso, Jackson Pollock and others. Using body paint and very kind and willing models, I reimagined some of the masters’ works. This is a fun and ongoing project. The somewhat insane and game for anything Manie Ward Capturing photographed my works for me.

In Gaslit II I explore the divide between myself and the gaslit version of myself. What is the truth, and how do I illuminate and heal the foiled parts of me?
